This edition of the database is free of charge and curtailed version of great work which is devoted to taxonomy, fauna, ecology and biology of East European butterflies. Complete version of the work includes the complete survey and identification guide to 319 species (378 taxons are considered in details, including subspecies) of butterflies, occurring in Norway (Finnmark Province), Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary, Belarus, Poland, Ukraine, Moldavia, European Russia (including all North Caucasus administrative units), and Western Kazakhstan (Ural and Atyrau Regions). Due to the database is acquainted with complete version of the work and advertises it, you can find only curtailed check-list of taxons where some species or genera are absent. There is only one genus Lycaena, representatives of which (9 taxa) are completely described and illustrated like in complete work in this version. You can test possibility of the key (the Key section) by instance of representatives of the genus. For some other East European species or subspecies in this version of the work are cited information about type locality, English name, etymology of Latin name and short range description. But information about detailed East European distribution, ecology and biology, taxonomy is curtailed as a rule. You would build up true conclusion about amount and quality of complete version of the work, we left image labels of all deleted images and left all images for Lycaena representatives. The demonstration version is supplied with 139 photos (illustrations) of butterflies, which were made as in existence so in collection. Also 18 distributional maps are available. In this work all possibilities of identification key have been completely saved, but quantity of identified taxons was cut up to 99. For mentioned number identification of all genera and 10 species and subspecies is available.
